MONROE - On July 16, Tory Tullis of Monroe was among 13 leaders celebrated as graduates of Leadership Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization whose educational programs are delivered through the University of Wisconsin-Extension's cooperative extension division.
As part of the two-year educational journey, Tullis studied issues such as healthcare, education, agriculture, energy and changing demographics. She traveled to the District of Columbia to study federal policy and to North Dakota to view how the natural resource extraction industry there connects to Wisconsin's economy and larger national energy issues. The program culminated in Kazakhstan, where she developed global leadership skills.
Tullis works at Colony Brands Inc.
The program is designed for residents from diverse backgrounds who share a strong desire to actively participate in meeting the challenges facing their organizations and communities. The program helps individuals discover leadership passion, potential and philosophy. Participants gain a broadened understanding of local, state and national issues and are prepared to apply leadership skills to bring about positive change in a dynamic multicultural world.
