JANESVILLE - Dr. Gina McConoughey was recently hired as Dean of Business at Blackhawk Technical College, and will assume her role starting Friday, May 31.
McConoughey is leaving her current post as Dean of Business, Hospitality and Information Systems at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, to take responsibility for the organization, administration and supervision of the business credit programs at BTC.
McConoughey will bring 12 years of higher education experience as an administrator and teacher. She received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University and worked for 11 years in private business before attending graduate school and beginning her teaching career. She earned a master's degree in adult continuing education from Northern Illinois University, an MBA from Bradley University, and a doctorate degree in curriculum and instruction - higher education from Illinois State University. McConoughey was also a faculty member at Elgin Community College, Illinois Central College and Bradley University before becoming a dean at Illinois Central two years ago.
