MONROE — Recent burglaries of a convenience store in New Glarus and a church in the Town of York are under investigation, and the Green County Sheriff’s Office is seeking tips from the public to identify suspects.
A “large amount of tobacco products” was stolen at about 3 a.m. Oct. 30 during a break-in at Casey’s General Store, 1019 Wis. 69, said Chief Deputy Tom Moczynski.
Another burglary was discovered at about 9 a.m. Nov. 1 at York Memorial Lutheran Church, located near the intersection of Wis. 39 and Wis. 78 in rural Blanchardville.
Consumer electronics were taken during the church burglary, Moczynski said.
Both burglaries involved forced entry, but no other known evidence connects them, he said.
