BTC shines at ag competition

JANESVILLE - Blackhawk Technical College's chapter of the Post-Secondary Agriculture Students Organization earned 21 total award certificates at the most recent Wisconsin PAS competition, including seven total first-place finishes and four second-place honors. The strong showing qualified 15 BTC students to attend the national conference this week in Louisville, Kentucky.

Multiple award winners from the area included Karly Ready of New Glarus, first place in agricultural education/employment interview and second place in impromptu speaking, and Maddie Gallagher of Darlington, first place in agribusiness sales/employment interview and second place in agricultural sales presentation/demonstration.

Other students who earned a top three honor were Travis Skattum of Gratiot, first place in agricultural sales presentation/demonstration, and Carly Arneson of Monroe, second place in agricultural education/employment interview.

These four students are among the 15 students who qualified to attend the national conference this week.
