JANESVILLE - The Blackhawk Technical College Board Appointment Committee recently announced the names of those chosen to fill the three vacancies on the BTC Board.
The board met April 17 and April 29 to conduct a public hearing and an appointment committee meeting to fill the vacancies.
The appointment committee for BTC is comprised of the Rock County and Green County chairpersons, from the two counties that make up the BTC district.
Incumbent Barbara Barrington-Tillman, Janesville, and newcomers Mark Mayer, Monroe, and Laverne Hays, Orfordville, were appointed to the committee for three-year terms. Barrington-Tillman and Mayer will serve in the employer member category and Hays will serve in the additional member category.
Barrington-Tillman is the chief deputy of the Rock County Sheriff's Office in Janesville. She was first appointed to the board in 2010. Mayer is the department head and agricultural agent with the UW-Extension in Green County. Hays is a retired mechanical drafter.
Board members will be sworn in at the annual meeting Monday, July 8 and are subjected to confirmation by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. The three-year terms begin July 1, 2013 and end June 30, 2016.
