MONROE - Applications for three three-year terms for appointment to the Blackhawk Technical College will be accepted until 4 p.m. March 25.
The BTC District Board is made up of two employers, two employees, three additional members, one elected official and one school district administrator.
The appointments are in the following categories:
One employer member; three-year term; July 1, 2013 to July 30, 2016
One employee member; three-year term; July 1, 2013 to July 30, 2016
One additional member; three year term; July 1, 2013 to July 30, 2016
Employer and employee candidates must be employed at a location within the boundaries of the district. An additional member is defined as a resident of the district.
Applicants must submit two references supporting their nomination to the Blackhawk Technical College Board and must attend a meeting of the District Board Appointment Committee to be interviewed. Board members are not paid, except for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
The Blackhawk Technical College Board Appointment Committee is comprised of the chairmans of the Rock County and Green County Board of Supervisors. The appointment committee will conduct a public hearing at 5 p.m. April 17 at the Rock County Courthouse, 51 S. Main St., Janesville. To accommodate any candidates not able to attend the hearing to be interviewed, a second hearing will be held at 5 p.m. April 29 at the Rock County Courthouse. The names of the candidates submitted by the deadline date will be published at least 14 days prior to the public hearings and meetings. No additional names will be accepted from the floor at the time of the public hearings and appointment committee meetings.
