BRODHEAD - The Brodhead City Council met in closed session Monday to, according to its agenda, "consider dismissal, demotion or discipline of a city employee."

The council also met "to confer with legal counsel for strategy on litigation in which the city may become involved."

Brodhead Mayor Doug Pinnow said Tuesday nothing happened at the meeting, other than voting to continue with a review.

"I really can't tell you anything," Pinnow said. "We don't want to compromise anything."

Pinnow declined to share specifics about the meeting, the review he referred to or what department the meeting was in reference to.

City Attorney Mark Schroeder said the council did not take any action in closed session.

He said he could not comment on specifics of the meeting, other than to say the council was considering discipline of a city employee.

Schroeder said the council could take up the issue again at its July 14 meeting, unless it would call a special meeting for before that date.
