Forms available to order trees

DARLINGTON - Lafayette County Land Conservation (LCD) tree order forms are available at the LCD office, 1900 Ervin Johnson Drive, Darlington, WI 53530; and on the web sites .futurelafayette.com/land or www.co.lafayette.wi.gov.

Orders may be placed by mail; or by phone at (608) 776-3836; fax at (608) 776-2170; or e-mail to lafayettelcd@yahoo.com. Tree orders are due by December 10, 2010. Payment will be made at the time of tree dispersal in late April.

Once again this year, the LCD is working with Argyle Land Ethic Academy (ALEA) as our plant supplier. ALEA has its own greenhouse, and has grown plants from county-native species.

Individual plants will be available for purchase at the April LCD tree dispersal, or collections can be pre-ordered through ALEA in February or March. Davis gets award from biz group

MADISON - Rep. Brett Davis, R-Oregon, received the Guardian of Small Business award Monday from the National Federation of Independent Business/Wisconsin - for his efforts to help grow Wisconsin's economy.

Davis achieved a100 percent score on the organization's voting record, which tracks the votes of every lawmaker on issues most important to Wisconsin small businesses.

"Helping to improve Wisconsin's business climate is an essential step toward turning our state's economy around and creating jobs," Davis said.

The Guardian of Small business award is the NFIB's highest honor.

MONROE

Democrats' office open in Monroe

MONROE - The Green County Democratic Party headquarters is open at 1516 11th St., just southwest of Monroe's Square. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Yard signs and printed material are available from all Democratic candidates. The office is open to the public.
