BLANCHARD TOWNSHIP — A Black River Falls man was on an adventure this past weekend. The 23-year-old was a part of two accidents in 12 hours, and picked up his first OWI in the process on Jan. 18.
Logan J. McCook was the passenger of a vehicle that crashed in Argyle Township at about 1 a.m. on Jan. 18. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan C. Schneeberger, 21, Monroe lost control of her vehicle on Lake Road, causing her to leave the roadway and enter the ditch. Schneeberger’s 2020 Nissan received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Before authorities got to the scene, McCook — one of Schneeberger’s passengers — fled.
About 12 hours later, deputies responded to County F in Blanchard Township for a one-vehicle rollover. After investigation, authorities said McCook lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, struck an embankment causing the vehicle to rollover, and coming to a rest. He reported no injuries. McCook’s 2011 BMW received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
McCook was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released after posting bond. McCook was also cited for OWI (1st), Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, Failure to Maintain Control, Operating without Insurance, and Reckless Endangering Safety.
