Brett Davis to speak at Gunderson Stiles hall

MONROE - State Representative Brett Davis will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, in the Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall at the Monroe Arts Center.

Davis will speak to the ways Wisconsin state government has been a model for the nation and where he would like state government to be. Davis is a candidate for lieutenant governor.

Davis graduated from Monroe High School in 1994. He earned a B.A. in business administration from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1999. He served as a legislative aide to state representative Mike Powers, chief of staff to State Senator Joe Liebham, and was a special assistant to former governor and U.S. Health and Human Services secretary Tommy Thompson.

Davis was elected to his current position as 80th District state representative in 2004 and re-elected in 2006 and 2008. He serves as the ranking member of the Assembly Committee on Education, and as a member of the Financial Institutions, Rural Economic Development, and the Rural Affairs and Renewable Energy committees.

Davis has authored 36 Assembly Bills and co-authored or co-sponsored 115 other bills.
