MONROE - Casey Shelton received a sentence of 40 years in prison without a chance for parole today for killing his one of his twin two-month old sons in 2007.
Shelton, 33, of Brodhead, received the maximum prison sentence possible by Green County Circuit Court Judge James Beer. He also received 10 years of extended supervision.
Shelton was convicted Jan. 17 of first-degree reckless homicide in the death of his son, Christopher. Testimony during a weeklong trial revealed Christopher died of trauma injuries to the brain, most likely caused by being shaken.
