BRODHEAD - Police have identified the 54-year-old man whose body was found Saturday in the Sugar River Mill Race in Brodhead.
The Brodhead Police Department identified the man as Steven J. Webber of Brodhead.
Police Chief Tom Moczynski said, based on the police investigation and the coroner's autopsy, the cause of death appears to be a drowning and no foul play was involved.
A passerby discovered the body around 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the water adjacent to Putnam Park, just south of County F, officials said. First responders on the scene located the body in the river.
The mill race, a manmade tributary of the Sugar River, flows through Brodhead.
