DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Dairy Breakfast is back on the farm.

For the past two years, Lafayette County Dairy Promotions has had trouble finding a farm to hold the annual event, member Jay Stauffacher said. Last year the breakfast was held at the county highway shop, and in 2008 the breakfast was held at the fairgrounds.

This year, the breakfast will be hosted by Darlington Ridge Farms, 24425 St. Peters Road, Darlington.

"The committee is excited to have the breakfast back on a farm," Stauffacher said.

The 34th annual Lafayette County Dairy Breakfast will be served from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The breakfast is expected to draw about 3,000 people, Stauffacher said.

People often come to the dairy breakfast for fellowship and food.

Volunteers will serve scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, sausage, cheese and doughnuts, along with milk, coffee and juice. Strawberry sundaes will be available for dessert.

Activities include live music, a children's corner and petting zoo, a pedal tractor pull and a display of antique tractors. The Lafayette County Health Department will give away free tetanus shots. Lafayette County Land Conservation awards will also be presented at the breakfast.

Cost of the breakfast is $4 for adults, $2 for children younger than 10 and free for preschoolers.
