MONTICELLO - Haunticello Fest, a family-friendly event with a bonfire, games, a concert, scary stories around the campfire and a costume contest with cash prizes, starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The scheduled activity times are: 5:30 -10 p.m., Halloween games and face-painting;
6 p.m., costume judging; 6:30-10 p.m., two haunted trails (one scary, one not) will be open; and 7-10 p.m., a musical concert by Andy Yaun around the campfire.
A concession stand will be available for Halloween treats, hot dogs, chips, cider, caramel apples, Day of the Dead bread and other seasonal food.
Admission tickets are available in advance at the school or at the door on Halloween night. Tickets are $3 for those 4 years old and younger, $5 for ages 5 through 17 and $8 for ages 18 and older.
Parking is available at the event site, and buses also will run every 30 minutes from the Monticello School circle drive, starting at 5:30 p.m.
This is a fundraiser for the Spanish and Art Clubs students to help offset the costs of cultural trips and extension activities. This event is being supported by the Monticello Community Club, Marshall Bluff Bow Hunter's Club, Sugar River Pizza and La Iguana Mexican Restaurant.
