MARSHALL — A 44-year-old Blanchardville man died after an accident during the early hours of Jan. 20 on I-94 in Dane County.

Erik Bredeson was traveling westbound near the 251-mile marker just outside of Marshall near Medina when his vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch and struck a tree at about 1:24 a.m. Wisconsin State Troopers were the first to respond and attempted CPR on the scene but were unable to revive him. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Fire and EMS and Dane County Medical Examiner all responded to the scene. Investigation of the crash is ongoing.

Bredeson graduated from Pecatonica in 1994.
