Best Friends is a weekly feature designed to highlight a local resident and his or her pets. To suggest

someone for the series, contact Marissa Weiher, photographer, at photo@themonroetimes.com.

Emily Euclide-Gartman of Monroe, a CNA currently attending nursing school, talks about her best friend Winnie, a 2-year-old Rottweiler.

Euclide-Gartman always wanted a Rottweiler and went into Petland in Janesville just to look at the dogs. That's when she met Winnie. "She looked at me like 'You're my human,' and I was like 'OK,'" she said. "Winnie was the one."

Describe Winnie's personality.

She will lick anyone who comes to the door. She's my little stinker. She'll bark at any noises she hears in the house. She's just a big baby. I can roll her around on the floor - nothing bothers her.

What do you and Winnie like to do together?

She likes to go on walks and for car rides. She's a good snuggler. She's a really good sleeper. She loves her toys. She mainly likes getting out and running. She doesn't like water so we don't go in the water very much, but she did enjoy playing in snow and chasing the snowmobiles.

What has it been like having Winnie in your life?

She's a little stinker. It's the best coming home, and she's always happy to see me. She's my big cuddle bug. It makes coming home a lot more fun, and watching her grow and seeing her own little personality come out has been exciting.
