DARLINGTON - A Belmont man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Jericho Road and Sandhill Road in Belmont township.
Dennis A. Bockhop, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Virginia Douglas.
Initial investigation showed that Bockhop's vehicle was being pursued by a Wiscnsin State Patrol sqaud car when it went through the intersection, hit a tree stump, overturned and caught on fire.
This was Lafayette County's seventh traffic fatality in 2009.
