Belmont man arrested for fifth OWI Monday

VILLAGE OF BELMONT - A Belmont man was arrested for a fifth offense of operating while intoxicated, a class H felony, at 4:56 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7.

Daniel D. Gardner, 56, was also arrested for speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign and having open intoxicants.

A Lafayette County Deputy responded to West Moundview Avenue, Village of Belmont, to assist the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Gardener was transported to the Lafayette County Jail.

He will have an adjourned initial appearance at 9 a.m. Sept. 14.
