MONROE - First National Bank and Trust announced will start a major building façade renovation at the Monroe branch, 1625 10th St.

First National worked with Potter Lawson, Inc. architectural firm to freshen the look of the building, provide for community-friendly seating areas near the historic downtown Square and improve exterior lighting. The building's windows will also be replaced and glazed reducing the glare in some of the internal offices and creating a more energy efficient building.

Klobucar Construction Company, Inc. was selected to complete the renovation. The project will be broken down into a couple phases. Work to the exterior benches along the sidewalk has already begun and the area will be landscaped in the spring. The lighting project is intended to help brighten the entries of the bank and should improve safety and security with better-lit walkways.
