Memorial Day gathering is May 28

POSTVILLE - The Green's Prairie Cemetery Association will host a Memorial Day informal gathering at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 28 at the cemetery on Postville Road, between County H and County A, weather permitting.

Those interested in attending need to bring their own lawn chair.

David Green, Town of York resident and genealogical archivist, will present the major address. His search has led him to some information about former residents of the area.

The association will recognize The War of 1812 and Civil War veterans buried in Green's Prairie Cemetery, as well as those who served from this area and are buried elsewhere. These several years mark the 150th remembrance of the Civil War.
