Church to host bible school on July Sundays

MCCONNELL, Ill. - McConnell United Methodist Church will host a Vacation Bible School at the church, 211 N. Hulbert Road.

VBS will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 8, 15 and 22. All children ages 3 years old through those entering sixth grade can attend. There will hold a closing celebration and potluck at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 29.

Wash. Church Music festival slated for July 4

MONTICELLO - The Washington Church Music Festival is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 at the Washington Reformation Church, N6026 Church Road.

The event will have music by Pew People 2.0, Heart Strings with Cathy Ebbert-Seffrood, Gary and Derek Hendrickson and Friends, and Greg Anderson Band "One More Time with Feeling Tour" with Bill Gempler

Admission is a suggested donation of $5.

Food and a quilt raffle will be available.

Monroe

Privilege Plus Club meeting is July 10; Shedd trip planned

MONROE - First National Bank and Trust Company's Privilege Plus Club will host a meeting to discuss Personal Safety for 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10 in the Community Room at First National Bank, 1625 10th St.

Refreshments will be provided.

A trip to see the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is also scheduled for Wednesday, July 18. Those 55 and older are invited to attend to learn more about First National Bank's Privilege Plus Club. Meetings and day trips are open to club members and the general public.

Albany

Lions Club to host annual auto show

ALBANY - The Albany Lions Club will host its ninth annual auto show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24 at the Lions Building, 402 N. Cincinnati St.

Registration is from 8 a.m. to noon and costs $10 per car and $5 per motorcycle.

Judging will take place a 3 p.m., followed by awards at 3:30 p.m. This year's awards will again be presented by the Green County Dairy Queens.

Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 100 entries. Three trophies will be awarded per class. Awards will also be given for best of show, Ford, Chrysler/Mopar, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Buick, motorcycles and judges' choice.

JVL Jocks will provide music. Door prizes and 50/50 drawings will be available.
