DARLINGTON - An Argyle man who allegedly threatened and sexually assaulted a woman he knows and swung a door into her head faces three misdemeanors in Lafayette County Circuit Court.

Albert B. Harris IV, 22, faces Class A counts of battery and fourth-degree sexual assault, and a Class B count of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct.

If convicted on all counts, he could face a prison sentence of one year and nine months, $21,000 in fines, or both.

Harris signed a $2,000 signature bond April 23. He is ordered to have no direct or indirect contact with the victim, according to court records.

The charges stem from an April 20 incident at the Super 8 motel, 201 Christensen Drive.

The woman reported Harris prevented her from leaving, put his hands around her neck and strangled her, and sexually assaulted her.

Harris was arrested and jailed as a result of the incident. He has a status conference July 15.
