ALBANY - The work of Suzanne Vinmans has recently been added to the online gallery at the Web site PortalWisconsin.org.

The nonprofit site is an online resource for culture, arts, humanities and history.

The site allows Web users to state artists working in a variety of media.

Wisconsin artists are encouraged to submit their work, which is then juried by a panel of educators, artists and curators.

There are currently 416 artists featured in the gallery.

Her statement, on the site, says, "Through my paintings, I want to convey expression of pure human emotions such as joy, grief, passion or sorrow. Subject matter simply expresses the beauty of the human form in motion.

Combinations of dancers suggest scenarios of stories from the Bible or Greek mythology. I try to capture the pinnacle moments in performance, leaving the viewer to comprehend stories for themselves."

Art enthusiasts can see her work at PortalWisconsin.org by clicking on the "gallery" link.

The PortalWisconsin.org site is a project of the Cultural Coalition of Wisconsin, which is made up of seven statewide partners - Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters; Wisconsin Arts Board; Wisconsin Historical Society; Wisconsin Humanities Council: Wisconsin Public Radio; Wisconsin Public Television; and University of Wisconsin Extension-Continuing Education.
