Tonight's New Glarus girls basketball game at Beloit Turner has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

MONROE - Another round of winter storms hit the area Sunday, but while there wasn't as much snow as predicted, rain made roads slushy and slippery for drivers.

The conditions caused some disruptions today for area schools. Pecatonica, Albany, Black Hawk, Juda, Monroe and Monticello schools were closed today, while Argyle, New Glarus and Shullsburg schools all had two-hour delays.

The Green County Highway Department reported county roads were snow covered and slippery and on some county roads there was standing water covered with snow.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Department reported that roads were snow covered and slippery and some had drifts on them.

Drivers were encouraged to slow down and take their time.

In Decatur township, Park Road was closed between County F and Decatur Road due to ice and water on the roadway, Green County Sheriff Randy Roderick said this morning.

The Green County Sheriff's Department reported two accidents with damages and 12 vehicles in ditches across Green County on Sunday.

According to the Sheriff's Department:

• A vehicle driven by Daniel J. Santiago, 25, Freeport, left the road and overturned around 1 a.m. on Wisconsin 69 and County B. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed. Speed and ice on the road were contributing factors in the crash.

• A vehicle driven by John W. Kaether, 32, Albany, hit a guardrail around 10:30 a.m. in the W500 block of Wis. 92. The vehicle received minor damage but was towed due to a flat tire.

The Monroe Police Department reported a vehicle driven by Kristopher A. Priewe, 26, Monroe, slid on the ice, hit an embankment and overturned around 1:15 a.m. Sunday at Wis. 69 and County DR. Priewe and his passenger, Tammy M. Noble, 26, Monroe, sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Priewe was cited for driving too fast for conditions and released pending court. His vehicle received moderate damage and was towed.

In Lafayette County:

• A vehicle driven by Merlyn D. Cook, 53, Benton, slid into a building due to ice on the road around 8:15 a.m. in the village of Benton.

• A vehicle driven by Joseph E. Brown, 30, Dickeyville, slid into a building due to ice on the road around 8:15 a.m. in the village of Benton.

• South Wayne First Response and Green County Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of a man who had fallen around 2:45 a.m. in South Wayne. The man sustained a head injury. No further information was available.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 40 percent chance of snow today with wind gusts as high as 30 mph. A 30 percent chance of snow is expected tonight with a 20 percent chance of snow for Tuesday.
