MONROE - The Veteran's Monroe Memorial Day tribute program will start at 6 a.m. Monday, May 30, with veterans raising the flags on the "Avenue of Flags." Volunteers will then decorate graves at 7 a.m. before heading to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2312 for coffee and doughnuts.
All squad leaders should report to Newt Neuenschwander and Chuck Drnek at the big monument to assist people in finding their places. Grave decorating groups are:

The parade units will assemble at 8:30 a.m. at Recreation Park, with the parade starting at 9 a.m. The parade travels from the park to the cemetery for a ceremony at 9:30 a.m., with introductions by Chuck Drnek, American Legion Commander. Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl - Monroe Bible Church - will give the invocation. Zach Van Natta will give Logan's Orders, and Sean Nack will recite the Gettysburg Address.
Musical selections will be by the Monroe High School Band, directed by Dan Hinkle. Judge Thomas Vale will give the Memorial Day Address; roll call of deceased veterans of Green County by Judge Advocate-Ron Spielman.
