ALBANY - Two Albany men have been arrested on charges related to growing marijuana.

Kevin Flood, 54, was arrested Tuesday on charges of growing marijuana, possession of marijuana, maintaining a drug dwelling, and possession of a controlled substance.

Officers from the State Line Area Narcotics Team, in conjunction with the Green County Sheriff's Office, Albany Police Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Spruce Street in Albany. There they seized 72 cannabis plants, grow equipment for manufacturing cannabis plants, an amount of cocaine and five guns. The weapons were seized as a part of the investigation. Flood was not armed at the time of his arrest.

The charges against Flood represent one Class E felony, two Class I felonies, and one misdemeanor. Sheriff Mark Rohloff said some of the plants were found inside a shed on the property, as well as a few planted outside.

SLANT and Green County Sheriff officers also arrested Nicholas Roth, 34, on Thursday, on charges of growing marijuana, possession of marijuana and maintaining a drug dwelling. The six marijuana plants seized were planted on the property located in the N6500 area of County X. Rohloff said it is unknown if the two men arrested were connected in any way, but the information on Flood's arrest was withheld until Friday so the investigation would not be jeopardized. Investigation into both subjects was entirely separate.

"There's always a likelihood that these people might know each other," he said.

The charges against Roth represent 1 Class E felony, 1 Class I felony, and one misdemeanor.

Both Flood and Roth are in custody at the Green County Jail pending arraignment.
