Albany man flees cops twice in same night

ALBANY - An Albany man was hospitalized and charged with multiple counts after a domestic dispute Saturday evening ended with two police chases and a traffic accident.

Joseph W. Carow, 23, Albany, fled after Green County deputies were called to a domestic dispute at a residence on Psalms Way Road in the Town of Albany at about 6:30 p.m.. Saturday, Sept. 28.

According to the Green County Sheriff's Department:

On the deputies' arrival, Carow fled, resulting in a chase that police ended. Then, at about 8:40 p.m., deputies were called back to this scene. Carow and a female passenger took a motor vehicle without the owner's consent and fled the scene, resulting in another pursuit by police. Deputies used stop sticks, which deflated a tire on the vehicle Carow was driving. Carow then drove off the roadway and sideswiped a power pole on Wisconsin 104 in the Town of Brooklyn.

Carow and his passenger were both transported to area hospitals. The vehicle had moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

Carow is charged with disorderly conduct; two counts of fleeing police; operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent; operating while intoxicated third offense causing injury; and reckless endangerment. Additional traffic charges are pending.

Personnel from Albany police, Rock County's Sheriff Department, Dane County Sheriff's Department, Evansville police and EMS, Brooklyn EMS and fire and Fitch-Rona EMS assisted Green County deputies.
