MONDAY, JAN. 19

• The City of Monroe Board of Public Works will meet at 4:30 p.m. at city hall. Agenda items include accept bids and award contract for masonry work to close coal bins openings below buildings in downtown square.

• The Monticello School District Board of Education has a special meeting scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the High School LMC. The purpose of the meeting is a contemplated executive session to discuss and take action, if appropriate, regarding administrative contract(s) and employment.

• The City of Monroe Public Safety Committee will meet at 5 p.m. at city hall. Agenda items include discussion and possibly action on proposal to change the parking management plan for the downtown area.

• The Argyle school board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the high school library. Agenda items include an update on the Pecatonica-Argyle consolidation study, and the possibility of convening into closed session to confer on a legal matter.

• The Darlington Community School District school board will meet at 8 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. Agenda items include consideration of establishing a wrestling co-op program to begin fall 2009.

TUESDAY, JAN. 20

• The City of Monroe Historical Preservation Commission will meet at noon at city hall. Agenda items include a public hearing regarding amendment to downtown historical district preservation plan.

• The City of Monroe Salary & Personnel Committee will meet at 7:10 p.m. at city hall. Agenda items include approve hiring of part-time seasonal snow removal personnel for airport.

• The City of Monroe Common Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at city hall. Agenda items include discussion regarding possible future management structures for city, including, but not limited to, discussion regarding administrators and city managers, and also possibility of changing length of terms for mayor and alderpersons.

• The Lafayette County Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the County Board Room of the Lafayette County Courthouse. Agenda items include a resolution recognizing Jack Alexander for his service to the board.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 21

• The City of Monroe Ad Hoc Technology Advisory Committee will meet at 10 a.m. at city hall. Agenda items include discuss and possibly recommend changes to current City of Monroe Web site.

• The City of Monroe Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 4 p.m. at 531 27th Ave., Monroe, and reconvene at city hall. Agenda items include listen to and act on appeal by Werner Rast requesting variances to build two garages.

• The City of Monroe Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners will meet at 5:15 p.m. at the community center. Agenda items include representatives for Monroe traveling girls softball leagues seeking approval for use of softball fields for games and tournaments this summer.

FRIDAY, JAN. 23

• The School District of New Glarus Building and Grounds Committee will meet at 7 a.m. in the high school conference room. Agenda items include a discussion of district space needs.

SATURDAY, JAN. 24

• The Town of Monroe caucus will be at 1 p.m. at the Town Hall, N3302 Monroe Road. All town residents are welcome.
