About "Roscoe's Treasure"

"Roscoe's Treasure" is written by Frances Milburn, a retired middle school teacher from Watertown. The story is geared toward third through eighth-grade reading and interest levels, as well as special education classes in middle and high school. It is filled with character lessons and real consequences throughout the nine chapters. Each chapter is approximately 930 words and includes a colored graphic. There is also a teacher's guide to accompany the story.

Stories will be published on Wednesday and Thursday each week in The Monroe times, beginning Nov. 12. There will only be one installment Thanksgiving week; the Times does not publish on It will conclude Dec. 11.

The story will be posted in this section with free access so both subscribers and nonsubscribers alike may enjoy it.
