The pool at Recreation Park was dedicated June 15, 1934. It was the result of a Civil Works Administration project started in 1933. Citizens raised $5,200 of the cost which was nearly $25,000.
The land surrounding the pool was named "The Recreation Park" on Sept. 12, 1934.
The 12-acre park includes a swimming pool, tennis courts, a lighted ball diamond, two shelters, a basketball court and the Swiss A.L.P.S. play area.
