MONROE - Seven Holstein cows are missing, and the Green County Sheriff's Department is investigating why.
The cows were reported missing at about 5:30 p.m. Monday in the W7500 block of County B in Cadiz township.
There's no time frame for when the cows went missing, said Randy Roderick, Green County sheriff. He said the cows could have been missing for several days. The cows' owner told deputies he noticed the cows were gone when he went to move the herd from one pasture to another.
Roderick said there haven't been any other reports of cows missing from the area.
