MONROE - It appears there will be three Republicans facing a primary election in September in the race for the 27th District in the state Senate.
On Monday, Tom Lamberson, Verona, announced he will be jumping in the race on the Republican side, which already features Tony Wickersham, Evansville, and Kurt Schlict, a Cross Plains village trustee and Dane County board member.
Jon Erpenbach, D-Waunakee, is the incumbent on the Democratic ticket. Jonathan Haus, a Libertarian candidate from Madison, is also seeking to unseat Erpenbach.
The Republican primary will be held Sept. 14. The general election is Nov. 2.
Lamberson owns a home building business, according to a press release from his campaign Monday.
