DARLINGTON — To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers recently signed a $3,484,865 contract to reconstruct the Wis. 11 and Wis. 23/County P intersection near Shullsburg in Lafayette County. Preliminary work is scheduled to begin March 23.
Zignego Company, Inc. is the prime contractor for the project. The project is designed to improve safety and operations by reconstructing the current intersection into a roundabout.
During construction, Wis. 11 will remain open to traffic under flagging operations. Wis. 23 and County P will be closed with a detour utilizing Wis. 11, Wis. 80 and Wis. 81.
Project completion is scheduled for early July 2026. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
