MONROE - A Monroe man was sentenced in Green County Circuit Court on Tuesday to 30 years in prison for repeated sexual assault of a child.

Steven D. Miller II, 25, pleaded no contest Feb. 18 to repeatedly sexually assaulting a child between Jan. 1, 2007, and Oct. 20, 2007, in a Monroe residence. He was convicted of burglary in 2002.

He faced up to 66 years in prison as part of the plea agreement for the class B felony as a repeat offender.

The court dismissed one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child, a class B felony, and causing a child to view or listen to sexual activity, a class F felony.

He originally faced more than 150 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines.
