MONROE - The Green County Board Tuesday unanimously approved 12 outside contacts for Green County Human Services - totaling more than $2 million.

Outside contracts for Green County Human Services are renewed annually and even though the price tag is more than $2.4 million, the funds are mostly accounted for by state money and previously budgeted finances for the department.

Outside contracts include those for psychologist services; regional centers for aging; Monroe Clinic for psychiatric and Birth to 3 services; autism therapy; and Pleasant View Nursing Home for meals.

Of the more than $2.4 million, almost 72 percent of the money comes from state funds with about 22 percent budgeted through the department. The remaining 3 to 4 percent are made up from client co-pay or collections, according to GCHS Director Greg Holcomb. The Green County board needs to sign off on all contracts more than $75,000.

"None of this money is levied beyond what was budgeted for this year," Holcomb said.

Of the 12 contracts, the largest amount is for the Grant County Center on Aging, but Holcomb said that money is "through money" that is provided by the state, requires no levy and passes through between Grant, Green, Iowa and Lafayette counties.

The board also voted to allow for a 50-50 share in cost for construction of bridges between cities/townships and the county.

The annual agreement shares the cost between municipalities and the county for bridge construction.
