MONROE - Grants were awarded to 17 non-profit organizations serving the needs of Monroe area residents.
The grants were awarded from the Monroe Fund, Reasa Charitable Fund, Dr. Fred W. and Alice J. Kundert Charitable Fund, Jane Lysaght Memorial Fund, Reasa Historic Preservation Fund, Robert B. Olson Investment Fund for Monroe High School, and The Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund.
The 2013 Grants Reception was held at the courthouse. Grants were presented to the following organizations:
The Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Charitable Fund was awarded to the Monroe Fire Department for training mannequins, Behring Senior Center for a computer technology center, the City of Monroe Parks and Recreation for family sports night, Pleasant View Nursing Home for the beautification of gardens and Big Brothers Big Sisters for a bus sponsor for school-based mentoring.
The Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Fund for Historic Preservation grant was awarded to Green County Historical Society for the restoration of stain glass windows and Turner Hall of Monroe for exterior surface restoration.
The Dr. Fred W. and Alice J. Kundert Charitable Fund was awarded to Monroe Parks and Rec for family sports night and Monroe Clinic Parish Nurse for a mental health workshop.
The Jane Lysaght Memorial Fund was awarded to Fowler Memorial Free Dental Clinic for general support.
The Monroe Fund was awarded to Everyone Needs a Home for pet food pantry, Family Promise of Green County for general support, Green County Human Services for respite care, Monroe Arts Center for performances in the school and at Salsabrosa, St. Victors School for smart products for a smarter classroom, Green County Veteran's Memorial for a bench and Pleasant View Nursing Home for the beautification of gardens.
The Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund was awarded to Pleasant View Nursing Home for the beautification of gardens, Big Brothers Big Sisters for a bus sponsor for school-based mentoring and the City of Monroe for Parks and Rec for a special needs playground.
The Robert B. Olson for Monroe High School Fund was awarded to Rainbow Childcare for playground improvements.

Campion Charitable Fund and the Jane Lysaght Memorial Fund are components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a non-profit public foundation serving nine southern Wisconsin counties. The Monroe Fund and the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin assist individuals with their charitable contributions in order to create enduring endowments for their communities.
