Learn the candidates at MAPS forum

MONROE — Monroe Advocates for Public Schools (MAPS) will host its third annual School Board Candidate Forum on Monday, March 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Monroe Arts Center, located at 1315 11th Street. Attendees are asked to enter through the West or East entrances, accessible from 13th or 14th Avenue.

Five of the six candidates running for school board will participate in the forum: Caleb Ahrens, Jami Cregan, Mike Froseth, James McKenzie, and Melissa Phillips. The sixth candidate, Terri Montgomery, actively participated in the scheduling process but is regretfully unable to attend due to a prior commitment.

The forum will provide candidates the opportunity to introduce themselves, and respond to written questions from members of the public. The event is designed to help voters make informed decisions in the upcoming election.

MAPS is a community organization dedicated to protecting and promoting public education by hosting nonpartisan public candidate forums for local races. MAPS does not support or endorse any political candidates, political parties, or ballot questions.

The forum is open to the public, and all community members are encouraged to attend.
