MONROE — Local officials are gearing up for the February Spring elections for Monroe Common Council and School Board.

Candidates for the three open seats on the school board include Michael Davis, Nicholas Baker, Caleb Ahrens, Dylan McGuire, Stephen Meyer, and Nicole Josephs. Of those only McGuire is an incumbent. McGuire, meanwhile, also is running for a seat on the Monroe Common Council.

The School District of Monroe has a nine-member Board of Education; members are elected to a three-year term with three members elected each spring on the April/Spring ballot

On the city council, alderpersons are elected “at large” for a two-year term in the annual spring election. Under the city code, four are elected in each of the odd-numbered years; and five in each of the even-numbered years.

In addition to McQuire, Debra Krattinger, Isabelle Motte, Christopher Vestin, and Craig H. Franke are running for seats on the new council.

Andrew Kranig and Kyle Knoll declined to file papers to retain seats on the council, according to County Clerk Arianna Voegeli.
