MONROE — The City of Monroe Clerk’s Office announces that a Spring Primary Election scheduled for February 17 will not be held for the City of Monroe mayoral race.
After reviewing state statutes, it was determined that a primary election is not necessary. As a result, the three certified mayoral candidates will advance directly to the Spring Election on April 7, where voters will make the final selection.
No ballots will be issued, and no polling places will be open for a February Spring Primary.
Voters are encouraged to participate in the April 7 Spring Election when the mayoral race will appear on the ballot along with other applicable contests.
For questions regarding the Spring Election, voter registration, or absentee voting, please contact the City of Monroe Clerk’s Office.
