MONROE — More than a year after the School District of Monroe sent students home indefinitely amid COVID-19 uncertainty, the Board of Education continued discussions March 22 about moving the full district to Plan B+ in April.
As of Monday’s BOE meeting, the district was seeing the lowest case and quarantine numbers in the district’s school buildings since September.
The tentative plan remains to bring all sixth grade students, juniors and seniors not in Plan H back into the buildings April 7.
The remaining middle and high school students not in Plan H will return April 12.
Though the board voted to switch the full district to Plan B+, District Administrator Rick Waski will still have the authority to switch the district or individual buildings to Plan C when deemed necessary.
BOE members also approved March 22 the transfer of Abraham Lincoln Elementary Principal Jenna Trame to Parkside Elementary school. Trame will be replacing Todd Paradis, who will be taking over as Director of Curriculum and Instruction after the retirement of Terri Montgomery, which is slated for the end of the school term.
The District has since posted an opening for the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School principal position.
