MONROE — Main Street Monroe, which put out approximately 20 benches in the downtown district in the beginning of June, has added picnic tables immediately off the Square to provide more opportunities to socially distance as part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Located on the northeast corner of the Square on Wisconsin Bank & Trust’s lawn, the picnic tables, which can seat 18 people total across three tables, provide additional spots in the shade, to eat carry out with the family or a place while waiting to get into a store or someone they love to shop.

Nordby also highlighted the fact that the tables are from a Wisconsin-based company (Uline) and made of 100% recycled plastic. they were assembled by volunteers and are sponsored by Big Radio, First National Bank and Trust and Wisconsin Bank & Trust. Wisconsin Bank & Trust provides the lawn area that is on the northeast corner of the Square.
