Edna Zum Brunnen (1892-1961)

“Mrs. Zum Brunnen taught at Loveland school, near her home, in Washington township, for thirty-one of her 40-plus years as a teacher. Known as a strict disciplinarian with her pupils, she still became one of Green County’s best-beloved teachers. She taught as many as three generations of some families. Mrs. Zum Brunnen was the former Edna Spaeni, a native of Monroe. She was married in 1914 to Casper Zum Brunnen who died in 1942. In 1946, she married his brother, Gottlieb Zum Brunnen, He died in 1958.”
