Arthur Pierce (1875-1946) was a native of Washington Township, Green County, having been born May 22, 1875, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Pierce. On April 4, 1899, he was united in marriage to Louise Klassy (1879-1967), daughter of Henry and Louise (Marty) Klassy. They farmed on the Pierce Homestead farm, at the south edge of the village across from the Highland Cemetery, for more than 40 years, moving to the village to make their home in 1944.LEFT: Art, nephew Raymond Pierce, and Lousie, circa 1940.
