Melvin “Peg” Lynn’s “homestyle” haircut, circa 1905 is pictured. Melvin Lynn, better known as “Peg” was born in Exeter Township in 1894, the son of John and Mary Lynn. He outgrew his sheared haircut to become a World War I veteran as well as one of Monticello’s prominent businessmen, owning Lynn’s Hardware.
