She was the daughter of Roy W. and Ida (Bindschaedler) Woelffer. She helped her parents at the Woelffer Drug Store. She earned spending money selling popcorn from her popcorn machine in front of the Drug Store.
Betty Jane graduated from Monticello High School in 1940. She took her nurses training at Methodist Hospital in Madison. She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, as a Lieutenant, 1943-1944. For over 30 years Betty Jane worked in St. Charles, IL. as a nurse anesthetist.
October 22, 1974, she married Edward R. Kaelin of West Chicago in Las Vegas. They made their home in St. Charles, IL.
Betty Jane is remembered as a gifted sewer, artist, collector, craftswoman, good neighbor friend, and favorite auntie. She enjoyed travelling to her home state of Wisconsin to visit family and friends.
