Photo provided by the Green County Historical Society

This photo was taken of the Kuhne Lumber Co employees in the mid-to-late 1950s. Kuhne Lumber was a large construction company employing these men.

The only ones recognized are front left, is Willie Roeschli, Gottlieb Brandli; and front row, fourth from right is Elwyn Priewe; and third from right is Gottfried Abbeglen. The last person in front is Sanford “Sam” Wahl; and in back row, third from left is Joe Rast, then possibly a Hilfiker. Many children of these men probably still live in Monroe and any family members that can identify them should email their identities to lostetter68@gmail.com or call Linda Lostetter 608-325-9730. The Green County Historical Society is trying to identify these men so their names can be archived. This company was a well-known and well-respected name in the community.
