Tessa Brown, Monroe, talks about her best friend Trudi, a 1-year-old German shepherd mix.
Brown has always been a dog lover and had dogs throughout her childhood. She decided she would have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for a dog so she started looking at different German shepherd rescues.
She filled out an application for White Paws German Shepherd Rescue, based out of Green Bay, and had her home inspected and they told her they had her perfect match, who ended up being Trudi.
Now, Trudi is still in her puppy phase and keeps constant watch outside the house. She makes sure to let Brown know of anything that’s going on.

Describe Trudi’s personality.
She’s a silly, happy dog. She’s loveable, friendly and always smiling. She’s energetic and constantly hungry. She’s just so funny.
What do you and Trudi like to do together?
We go for walks. She likes to play at the airport park and walk around town. Anything outside, she’s in her element. She likes to play with Frisbees and balls, even though I throw the Frisbee over the fence a lot. She could just play all day. She also likes to go for car rides and eat ice cream.
What has it been like having Trudi in your life?
It has been wonderful. She’s definitely a calming force in my life. When I come home, she’s excited to see me and is happy all the time. She also keeps me active and gets me outside more often. She’s definitely a super cool dog.
