MONROE — The Colony Brands Green County Family YMCA announced this week a transformative four-year, $100,000 partnership with Greenco Industries to develop a brand new Inclusive & Adaptive Program that ensure individuals of all abilities have access to health, wellness, and community connection.
This multi-year commitment — made possible through funds Greenco Industries secured from a private foundation — will provide free adaptive programming for the community, new equipment, staff training, and free Y access for program participants and their caregivers.
As part of this initiative, the Y and Greenco will also develop partnerships with local school districts to provide free access to the Y for all special education departments and their students, ensuring every child can participate in inclusive physical activity, social experiences, and wellness education.
“This partnership embodies our mission and the spirit of inclusion,” said Trent Henning, Executive Director of the Colony Brands Green County Family YMCA. “Together with Greenco Industries, we’re breaking down barriers and ensuring everyone — regardless of ability — feels welcome and supported at the Y. It’s about belonging, growth, and creating a community that thrives together.”
Greenco Industries, a Monroe-based nonprofit providing meaningful employment for individuals with disabilities, has been a longtime champion of inclusion and opportunity in Green County.
“We’re honored to partner with the YMCA to expand access and inclusion across our community,” said Randy Klein, CEO of Greenco Industries. “With support from a private foundation, we’re investing in programs that make a real difference in people’s lives — helping individuals of all abilities lead healthy, connected, and fulfilling lives.”
The Y and Greenco Industries partnership reflects a shared vision for a stronger, more inclusive community — where every individual has the opportunity to belong, grow, and thrive.
