MONROE — Woodford State Bank announced a $20,000 donation to Family Promise of Green County in support of its A Place to Call Home Capital Campaign. The campaign aims to raise $1 million by December 31, to purchase and renovate Graceland Manor, expanding shelter and hope for families in need across Green County.

Family Promise’s vision is to triple its shelter capacity, add transitional housing and student support rooms, and create shared spaces including a dining room, kitchen, library, and children’s play area. The project also plans to convert the organization’s current building into two affordable apartments and lay the groundwork for a future drop-in shelter and warming center.

Since 2011, Family Promise has served more than 700 families, including over 800 adults and 800 children, helping them build pathways out of homelessness. This expansion directly responds to the growing need for affordable housing identified as a top community issue in the 2024 Green County Health Assessment.

“Supporting Family Promise’s expansion means helping local families find stability and a place to rebuild,” said Scott DeNure, President and CEO of Woodford State Bank. “At Woodford State Bank, we believe every family deserves a safe place to call home — and we’re honored to help make that possible right here in our community.”

Woodford State Bank joins other local leaders and organizations in supporting this transformational project, which will strengthen families and build a more secure future for Green County.
