Wisconsin Lottery introduces new mobile app, digital playslips
wisconsin lottery

MADISON — Earlier this month, the Wisconsin Lottery launched a free mobile app offering players new opportunities to check their tickets, create digital playslips for purchase at retail locations, save their favorite numbers, and much more.

Available for download in the App Store and Google Play, the innovative app is loaded with useful features. Players can find details on current scratch games, check winning numbers, use the store locator to identify the nearest Lottery retailer, and research “hot” and “cold” numbers based on the last 10 lotto drawings.  Two functions on the new app that are expected to be frequently used by players are the ticket checker and the digital playslips. The ticket checker allows players to check their lotto and scratch tickets quickly, easily, and anytime. Players can scan the barcode on a lotto or scratch ticket and the app can tell if the ticket is a winner. Ticket numbers can also be manually entered through the app to check winning numbers.

The app also allows players to create and save digital playslips, usable at any Wisconsin Lottery retailer. Players can select a game, choose numbers and playing options, and then save their playslip in the app for a retailer to scan and print a ticket from their terminal. Players can also self-scan tickets on Lottery ticket vending machines. Just like traditional, paper playslips, a ticket must still be purchased at a Lottery retailer to have a chance to win a prize. A playslip is not valid to claim a prize. Players can also continue to use paper playslips rather than the app if they prefer.

Wisconsin Lottery players cannot purchase tickets or claim prizes in the mobile app. Wisconsin Lottery tickets can only be purchased at an authorized retailer. Retailers can redeem tickets winning up to $599 or the amount that is allowed by the retailer’s normal cashing practices (not to exceed $599). Prizes up to $599 can also be claimed by mail or at the Lottery’s Madison or Milwaukee offices. Prizes of $600 to $199,999 can only be claimed at the Madison or Milwaukee offices in person or by mail. Winning Lottery tickets of $200,000 or more must be redeemed in person at the Madison Lottery office.
